a doodle, a mascot, a running joke

Gary circles the dumb stuff near you.

Gary the Marker is a hand-drawn stick figure mascot associated with a token. The idea of a shared map where people submit screenshots for Gary to circle is a described concept — not a live product, verified dataset, or built feature today.

Project signalmap/leaderboard mechanics are proven to pull organic buyers but every entry uses the same clean pin-icon aesthetic; a doodled mascot doing the circling makes it a character instead of a dashboard

How it works

Point at something dumb. Gary circles it. That's the whole bit.

01

What actually exists right now

Today, Gary the Marker exists as a character concept, a visual direction (crude one-color ballpoint-pen doodles on a torn-notebook-page look), and a token associated with that character. There is no live map, submission channel, or circling workflow currently implemented.

02

The idea behind the bit (not yet built)

As a described, unbuilt idea: someone could text or DM a screenshot of something dumb near them with a location, and whoever is informally running the map that week could manually circle it with Gary. The only proposed 'verification' would be people vouching for it in chat — no audits, no geofencing, no moderation team exist for this today.

03

Why a mascot instead of a dashboard

Most crowdsourced map projects use the same clean pin-icon aesthetic and lean on claims of accuracy that are hard to trust. Gary the Marker leans the other way on purpose — a crude doodled mascot and an openly social, unverified idea, so nobody mistakes it for a data product.

04

What the token is, and isn't

The token is associated with Gary the Marker as a character and with this experiment — nothing more. It carries no equity, revenue share, ownership, governance rights, nonpublic information, discounts, or guaranteed access to anything. Ideas like submitting screenshots or voting on which circles get drawn first are PROPOSED, unbuilt concepts open to anyone if they are ever built, not benefits tied to holding the token. This is a joke and a shared doodle concept, not a financial product, and it does not promise profit, adoption, or any guaranteed outcome.

05

$GARYMARKER

$GARYMARKER is the proposed token associated with the experiment. It is not equity, revenue share, ownership, governance, access to nonpublic information, a discount or a guaranteed service.

Questions

Read before taking part.

Is the map real right now — can I submit something today?

No. As implemented today, there is no live map, submission channel, or circling workflow. The map, the submission process, and Gary's circling are a described idea and a concept, not a running product.

What is $GARYMARKER?

$GARYMARKER is proposed but not launched by FORGE. It is associated with the experiment and provides no equity, revenue share, ownership, governance, nonpublic information, discount or guaranteed service.

Does anything verify or guarantee that a circled submission is real?

No. Even in the described (not yet built) idea, there is no verification layer beyond people vouching for a submission in chat. Nothing is checked, geofenced, or audited, and nothing about the token creates any legal right, guarantee, or verified outcome.

Who decides what gets circled?

In the described (not built) idea, whoever is informally running the shared map in a given week would decide, with no formal criteria beyond social vouching from chat. There is no committee, moderation team, or review process in place today.

Will there be regional or timezone-based chat threads?

Regional chat threads organized by timezone are a PLANNED idea to let circling happen while people are locally awake, since the format is visual and doesn't need translation. None of these threads currently exist.

Is this a serious data or mapping product, and is it safe to share real locations?

No, this is explicitly a joke and a shared doodle bit, not a data product, not a verified mapping tool, and not a utility. If this idea is ever built, anyone sharing a screenshot should avoid capturing identifiable faces, license plates, or private residences, since no privacy review or takedown process exists.
